Trustee Services Advisor


We require a Trustee Services Advisor, primarily to deal with Trustee’s duties, particularly in connection with family trusts where Killik & Co Trustees Ltd are appointed as trustee. The postholder will also be required to deal with estates, Lasting Powers of Attorney and attorneyships.

Key Accountabilities

  • Administration (not including investment management) of Trusts, including liaising with beneficiaries & co-trustees
  • Creation of new trusts including liaising with Trustees to ensure the deed reflects the wishes of the settlor, explaining the tax consequences etc
  • Liaising with Wealth Planning where required – offering trusts as part of estate planning and obtaining new business
  • Making decisions on the action to be taken – involving complex legal & fiscal matters and sensitive family situations
  • Agreeing devolutions of trusts (by reference to the trust deed)
  • Preparation of trust accounts
  • Ensuring any changes to relevant legislation are built into the Firm’s processes and that all relevant staff are made aware of how such changes will affect them and their clients
  • To assist the Trustees with decision making in respect of payments following the death of a SIPP-holder
  • To provide support to junior members of the team and the wider business on all aspects of trusts
  • To deal with the administration of estates where Killik & Co Trustees Ltd have been appointed as executor
  • Preparation of deeds (e.g. deeds of variation, of retirement and appointment)
  • Preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney and liaising with clients about these
  • Administration of attorneyships/deputyships where Killik & Co Trustees Ltd are the appointed attorney/deputy

  • Comfortable participating in marketing/developing all relevant areas of the Trustee Services business unit.

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • Good standard of educational qualification
  • At least 2 years’ experience in working with UK trusts
  • Either working towards or willing to work towards STEP qualification (full support provided)
  • Previous experience of customer service within an office environment

Contractual Hours

9.00am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday
