Our Will Writing Service

Our Will Writing Service offers a simple way to make a Will, tailored to your individual circumstances.

Designed for those who are yet to write a Will or who need to amend their existing Will, our Will Writing Service is ideal for clients seeking to plan the future distribution of their estate.

Will writing is the only way to ensure your wishes are honoured in regard to who inherits your estate. If you do not have a Will, your loved ones might not inherit your estate according to your wishes.

Instead, your estate will be governed by the “laws of intestacy”. These complex laws cover every family situation but do not necessarily reflect what you would choose to do yourself.

What is unique about our Will Writing Service?

We specialise in protecting family wealth and have many years of experience helping clients to prepare Wills.

Our Will Writing Service offers a simple way to make a Will suitable for your individual circumstances. We can also provide access to estate planning specialists who can help address concerns around Inheritance Tax.

As part of our after-care service, we assist clients by safely storing your Will/s and keeping them under regular review.

This Service is provided by our Tax and Trustee services team as we recognise that the specialist management of Wills is critical to ensure clients’ wealth is sufficiently protected.

How our Will Writing Service works

Following an introduction from your Adviser, our Tax and Trustee services team will liaise directly with you to make a Will.

We will start with a conversation to understand your requirements in detail, asking appropriate questions to ensure you have sufficient arrangements in place.

We will then provide you with a draft Will, along with a full explanatory letter, with our specialist team available to address concerns around anything that is unclear.

Once you are happy with the draft, we will send you a bound copy to sign with full instructions on what to do next. We will then verify the “due execution” of your Will and arrange to store this in safe custody, free of charge. We can also store other important documents with your Will, if required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Will?

A Will is a legally binding document that sets out what happens to your estate following your death. This usually covers money, property, and possessions, and includes the name of the person/s responsible for executing your wishes.

Why is it important to have a Will?

If you do not have a Will, your estate will be governed by the Administration of Estates Act 1925. Also known as the “laws of intestacy”, these complex laws cover every family situation but do not necessarily reflect what you would choose to do yourself. In addition to missing out on opportunities to leave valued personal items or cash legacies to those you choose (including charities), the lack of a Will can lead to tax and financial challenges and uncertainty for your loved ones.

How much does our Will Writing Service cost?

We charge £320 to prepare a Single Will and £380 to prepare two Mirror Wills.
