Discretionary Stockbroking
If you have a minimum of £100,000 to invest, and you want to leave the day-to-day running of your portfolio to your Broker, you have two options. The first is our Managed Portfolio Service which will provide you with a structured plan and management that will orientate your holdings to help achieve your chosen strategy. The second is Discretionary Stockbroking.
This is a highly innovative service which offers exceptional flexibility. It provides a potentially unstructured portfolio with no benchmarking of returns, allowing an investor to create a completely personalised, bespoke investment strategy for his or her Broker to execute. The service is driven by your needs, not by any internal asset allocation process, and does not work to any particular timescale.
Together with your Broker you establish your investment preferences. We will then assume all responsibility for the day-to-day management of your investments, on a discretionary basis.
Every time we make any change to your portfolio, we will write to you to explain why. You will also receive a composite valuation of your investments twice a year and regular statements.
Risk factors
Discretionary Stockbroking is a service that offers flexibility however with this approach there is inherently more risk and you should ensure that you understand the risks involved in this approach. Subject to your brief, your portfolio may not be linked to a given index and may therefore significantly out-perform or under-perform against traditional benchmarks. Your portfolio may also be invested in illiquid markets and your investments may therefore be subject to significant volatility. Please refer to our Discretionary Stockbroking brochure for more information on the benefits and risks.
