Wills
What will happen to your assets after you die? Will those who you care about, and have worked so hard for, be properly supported? These are not the sort of questions most of us like to dwell on. Indeed, statistics point to the fact that over 70% of adults die without a will. However, approaching the subject with some help from us and some timely planning can ensure things turn out exactly as you would want.
Killik & Co Trustees Limited (our specialist arm) offers a Wills service which is experienced in handling the drawing-up of all kinds of wills, from the straightforward to the more unusual and complex, as well as associated trusts. Costs can be modest and the whole process is straightforward and easy to navigate. As part of our after-care service, clients are assisted in keeping their wills under regular review.
Executorships
An executor is the person or body you select to deal with the administration of your estate. If you don’t select someone, someone will be selected for you. It is an appointment that comes with considerable responsibility at a difficult time.
The executor’s duties are far-reaching, ranging from responsibility for the immediate post-death formalities, to accounting to the beneficiaries in a timely manner. More complex matters like Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Income Tax may also have to be addressed.
Your first instinct might be to name a family member to deal with your estate. However, most private executors will, in the course of their duties, seek professional advice.
By entrusting your estate to Killik & Co you can be sure that it will be handled in an expert, professional and impartial manner. And – perhaps most importantly – your family will be shielded from having to deal with complex and time-consuming matters.
