Trading Services

If you want to trade the markets, do so with some leverage, at relatively low cost, without stamp duty, possibly without liability to Capital Gains Tax, with the ability to go short and to trade indices, foreign exchange and commodities with instruments such as Contracts for Difference (CFDs) and Spread Betting, then Trading Services is for you.

This is a rapid response set of services for the sophisticated investor who is looking to get closer to the markets with the support of advice where and when needed.

CFDs, Spread Betting, Traded Options and Covered Warrants give you the opportunity to leverage your holdings across a wide range of products. Although these instruments are usually used for speculative investments they can also be used in various strategic ways to hedge your existing portfolio. We suggest you consult with your personal Broker for more information.

Pursuing active trading strategies in the market is not for the faint-hearted and is strictly for those who are comfortable exposing their money to high volatility in price movements. We would recommend that clients consider the risks thoroughly and, as a guide, hold no more than about 10% of their overall investments in this service.

Please note that a separate Client Agreement applies to Trading Services.

Contracts for Difference (CFDs)

CFDs give the holder exposure to changes in the value of an underlying share or market but without the requirement to own the physical asset.

Spread Betting

Like CFDs, financial Spread Betting lets you back your trading judgement without having to buy the underlying instrument or product you want to trade.

Traded Options

Traded Options come in two forms, calls and puts, options , but not obligations, to buy or sell a fixed number of shares of an underlying stock at a fixed price within a fixed period of time.

Covered Warrants

A Covered Warrant gives the holder the right, but with no obligation, to buy or sell an underlying asset, at a specified price, on or before a predetermined date.

Risk Factors

All the products detailed above involve high risk and are therefore not suitable for every investor. If you are trading in CFDs or Spread Bets , profits and losses can be many times your initial deposit. Please refer to our Contracts for Difference (CFDs) and Financial Spread Betting brochure for more information on the benefits and risks.
